Our Approach

Before you decide.

A career squeezes forty years of financial decisions into ten. This page is about the moments just before you make them.

A new contract.

Everyone’s congratulating you.

You’re already wondering who to trust.

Moving country.

The move is arranged in weeks.

The money side isn’t mentioned once.

Family.

You’d give them anything.

That’s exactly the problem.

Lifestyle.

Comparison is expensive.

Opportunity.

Everyone with a deal calls it a sure thing.

You’ve noticed they never use their own money.

Unexpected wealth.

The money arrives faster than the habits to manage it.

None of these start as financial decisions. Every one of them becomes one.

Retirement.

One day, someone takes your place.

You always knew they would.

It still catches you.

You don’t have to wait until the end to ask.

How we think

Slow it down.

Every one of those moments arrives with pressure attached: a deadline, an expectation, someone waiting on an answer. Pressure is where money gets lost.

So we slow the decision down, and ask the same four questions of everything:

What does it really cost you?

What does this open up?

What happens if you do nothing?

Would we recommend it to our own family?

Urgency is usually the first warning sign.

The relationship

Built to last longer than your career.

  1. A conversation.

    Twenty minutes. Nothing to prepare.

  2. Your world, understood.

    We listen before we advise.

  3. A plan that doesn’t need thinking about.

  4. We stay.

    Contracts end. This doesn’t.

The people behind it

We don’t need to know everything. We need to know exactly who does.

Around every important decision are people you shouldn’t have to find yourself. We already know who to call.

You deal with one person, not five.

Bringing the pieces together.

Your financial life is rarely one decision.

It can involve contracts, cash flow, property, investments, insurance, wills, trusts, estate planning, tax, legal questions and family responsibilities.

No one person should pretend to do all of that alone.

The Athlete Office helps coordinate the right specialists around you, so each part is considered properly and the full picture stays connected.

We’ll never pretend to know something we don’t.
If we don’t know, we’ll find the best person who does.
You deserve the correct answer, not an opinion.

How advice is handled

The Athlete Office helps athletes and their families understand the questions they need to ask, the decisions they need to prepare for, and the specialists they may need around them.

We do not believe every problem should be forced into one product, one provider or one answer.

Where regulated financial, legal, tax, insurance or pension advice is required, we help coordinate the right specialist support. The professional providing that advice is responsible for their own recommendation, permissions and regulatory obligations. The Athlete Office is not liable or responsible for that advice, or for losses arising from an introduction to another specialist or firm. Any complaints procedure sits with the specific adviser or firm, not The Athlete Office.

Our role is to keep the process clear, organised and focused on what is genuinely right for the client.

Before you decide anything else.

Let's have a conversation. Twenty minutes. Private. Nothing to prepare, and nothing to decide on the day.
